Currently we support MySql, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Access 97 and Access 2000, and Plain Text Files.

Where do I upload my MS Access database?
Technically, you could upload your database to any directory under your root. However, we suggest you upload your database into the cgi-bin directory. Since the cgi-bin directory is set to execute only, web visitors will not be able to download your database. For added security, you might want to password protect your database.

What version of MS SQL do you use?
We offer MS SQL 2000 the latest service packs installed. We can also support your MS SQL 7 and 6.5 databases.

What tools can I use to manage my MS SQL database?
You can manage your MS SQL database with the database tools in our Control Center, the SQL Enterprise Manager/Microsoft Management or the SQL Server Web Assistant. You can download these tools from Microsoft. You can install these tools on Windows 98 or Windows NT or Windows 2000. Run the installation and when prompted for the components you wish to install, uncheck the SQL server components, and leave the client management utilities. When we send you a confirmation, we will include the relevant setup information to use in the Enterprise Manager/MMC to connect to our SQL server.
Note: You must enable TCP/IP sockets net library on these clients to access our MS SQL server from the Internet. (Default port 1433)

How many MS SQL logins can I have?
By default, one MS SQL login is created for every account. This login is aliased as the database owner (dbo). Up to five additional logins can be created.

How do I upload my data to SQL Server?
As the registered owner of the database, you may also use the new features of SQL including DTS (Data Transformation Services). DTS allows you as the dbo (database owner) to upload database information including tables, schema, stored procedures, triggers and diagrams. Using DTS, you can upload data from the following sources: SQL 6.5, SQL 7.0, 2000, Access and text files. KnightWeb will assist you when you are ready to migrate your databases to our servers.
